Design of Catamaran Sailing Boat for Fishing Vessels Multi-Purpose (Eko sasmito Hadi 2009)
Oil crisis of the industrial world is very burdensome industries including fishing vessels exploited by the fishers community in our country. There was no denying that the fuel cost component to take portions of about 40% of the total operational cost of a ship. Fuel used by the shipping industry is not subsidized by the state, but for the industrial fishing boats run by the fishers are still subsidized by the state. This will creates a heavier burden the state budget.
In this research will provides a new concept of fishing vessels are able to suppress the use of fuel and environmentally friendly. The concept of fishing boats is a development of the fishing vessel earlier models that have been developed by the Laboratory of ship design Diponegoro University Faculty of Engineering. These fishing boats can also function other than fishing vessels or multifunctional.
The concept of fishing boats that are environmentally friendly fisher no longer depends on the fuel. Because these fish boat has driven by two power sources, namely the engine and sail. This ship is also planned to take the catch of these vessels as live fish that have the high economic value. Handling of the catch is not too dependent on the cooling system and ice, because the fish hold of this ship made integrated with the hull and allows the water outside the ship entered freely in the hold.
Motor sailboat design mini purse seine through the modification of traditional hull forms of the district Batang – Central Java – Indonesia. (Eko Sasmito Hadi and Iksan Firman 2009)
This research about design of motor sail vessel has been chosen according to the weakness in the traditional ship building in Batang, Central Java and the existence of wind. The recent method of hull form design desired to avoid the weakness of the traditional ship building in Batang. The usage of the wind power by installed the sail to the ship is the way to minimize the ship operation cost, especially concern to the fuel consumption. By the three hull form design methods it has been chosen one hull form that has the best perform. Those perform should be consist the ship resistance, stability and seakeeping aspect.
The research about design of motor sail vessel desired could give the information about the perform of modification hull form that has the better perform than the traditional hull form in Batang and it can be the alternative to development of fishing vessel hull form design to the modern way.
According to the result of the calculation and the analysis it gained the result showed that at the nine knots of velocity, from the three hull form, 55 feet NPL series, Scheltema, and form data, the model of 55 feet NPL series has the smallest resistance value or could reduce the resistance for 56,55% of the recent type of hull form in Batang. According to the stability aspect in every conditions of Model 55 feet NPL series variation has the better stability than the other hull form modification and also the ships in Batang. The sail installation of the ship in model 55 feet NPL series can reduces the operation power consumption for 68,21% of the KM. Rizky Mina Abadi without sail.
Development design of Catamaran Fishing Boat with sail and propeller propulsion systems for Live Fish Hold. (Eko Sasmito Hadi and Hendri Irawan 2009)
The application of catamaran hull-form for the fishing vessel accorded to the leakage of the mono hull-form. The existence and the using of the lively fish hold could help the fisherman to decrease the operational cost for about 11,8% to keep the fishes. Therefore the application of sail objected to reduce the biggest cost operation component that is the fuel consumption. Catamaran hull-form design for lively fish hold took one hull-form which has the best performance. The performance aspects in this case are the hydrostatic, ship resistance, stability and sea-keeping.
The research about catamaran fishing vessel design for lively fishes using sail and machine as the ship mover is expected to give the information about the hull-form that has a better performance than the commonly hull-form and it could be an alternative to improve the fishing vessel hull-form into the modern one.
Accorded to the calculation result and analysis are gained the result that showed at the velocity of 12 knots from some length dimension variations of fish hold for the catamaran fishing vessel with lively fish hold, variation of length of 2,0 meters could reduced the biggest ship’s resistance for about 3,99% between the other modification hull-form and the ship’s resistance of standard hull-form. Otherwise, by the stability aspect of any variation condition, fish hold length dimension variation at 2,0 meters had a better stability than another fish hold length dimension and catamaran fishing vessel which used the commonly fish hold. The installation of sail at the fish hold length dimension at 2,0 meters could reduce the power operation for about 48,42% better than fishing vessel that used the commonly fish hold.
Ship Design Development Studies Traditional Fishing Vessel Type Batang at Central Java Using Live Fish Hold. (Eko Sasmito Hadi and Sumarno 2009)
The design of the live fish hold system in the traditional fishing vessel of Batang type based on the needs production of fish alive, in the design live fish hold system takes the hull-form performance and good technical specifications include stability, resistance, though the motion, speed and the driving force. These parameters associated with the harmony of fishing gears used and how to operate and hold the appropriate dimensions to live hold fish systems
In this study planned to live fish hold system with direct circulation of seawater flow through the hole in the bottom of the hull, in principle is how the ship’s ability to stay afloat with the condition of the ship suffered from the encroachments of the sea outside the ship, so that in condition the ship still have a reserve buoyancy and stability are believed to be able to prevent the sinking of the ship until the vessel docked.
The calculations hull-form live fish hold system that is designed to have value MG (Meta-center to Gravity) higher 19% higher than the hull-form using conventional hatch system. Total resistance value of the smallest in the hull-form live fish hold system is the size of the hatch length of 6.5 m of 8.33 KN. In terms of the motion if the ship, the hull-form live fish hold system on average has an amplitude value greater than a conventional hatch system at every movement heaving, pitching and rolling.
